Insects Biting - Bed Bugs

Bed bugs

Bed Bugs - Biting Insects

Bed bugs cannot fly therefore they can only travel in luggage or some other transportation method.

There are a number of variations of these
bugs: -

  • Common bed bug
  • Pigeon bug
  • Martin bug

Bed bugs have, increasingly over the last few years, become a major pest.

Once most commonly associated with poor, over crowded conditions bed bugs have escalated as a problem with the onset of cheaper foreign travel in particular to third world countries and the popularity of city breaks.

Case Study
We at Enviropest have very good experience in bed bug control, a hotel of a major chain of hotels was experiencing a bad bed bug infestation which was not being controlled by their usual contractor.

After being called in by the management, a thorough treatment schedule was put in place to bring the bed bug problem under control, allowing the hotel to use all of it’s bedrooms.

Enviropest are seeing an increase in bed bug activity due to the transportation of eggs and adults from abroad. This is increasingly prevalent as a problem in hotels and hostels.

Whilst bed bugs are seldom associated with diseases their bite can cause a nasty swelling.

Second hand furniture can also be a source of bed bugs and these days central heating can allow them to breed all year round.

Where there is a serious infestation professional help is required to ascertain the extent of the problem and develop a comprehensive treatment plan.

Enviropest have many years experience of tackling such problems, please telephone 0121 693 6616 to arrange a free survey.
