Fly Exclusion Mesh Curtain Door

Mesh Curtain Door

A flexible mesh curtain made up from individual 200mm wide tough polyester strips. Each strip is hooked onto to a top track and hangs down to approximately 25mm from the floor making removal at the end of the day a simple task.


How they work Each curtain strip is held securely to a polycarbonate plate which in turn Is hooked onto a Stainless Steel track. The weighted strips hang down to form a flexible curtain that can be easily passed through, yet fall back into place.


Suitability A cost effective curtain for any width openings. Use it where it is not convenient to site a screen door.
Individual strips can be integrated with plastic curtains to gain some ventilation.
Replacement strips are easily obtained and require only the original polycarbonate plate refixing to the new strip to restore the full curtain.
This curtain is not suitable for retaining heat and is not effective in windy areas.
Not recommended for apertures used by wheeled conveyances.


Removal The Stainless Steel track is permanent.
Unhook individual strips.



Maintenance The Stainless Steel track requires no maintenance.
To clean strips, remove and immerse in warm soapy water, shake off excess water and rehang.

Canopy / Box

Canopy Box

How they work The rear flanges are used to secure the box to either the existing window frame or any flat surface. The fly screen is hinged to the front flange making access for cleaning both window and screen easy.
Once secured, the window will open into the box allowing ventilation, yet keeping insects out.


Suitability This type of box is ideal for mounting over louvres or horizontal and vertical centre pivot windows.
Suitable for internal and external fixing.


Removal The box is a permanent fixture and cannot be removed easily


Maintenance None.


Technical Available in 16's gauge aluminium or galvanised sheet, Standard mill finish, but can be matched to any BS colour codes at extra cost.

Heavy Duty Door

Heavy Duty Door

A powder coated aluminium framed door. Each corner is mitred and double riveted through corner cleats for maximum strength. This door includes a strong decorative grill to protect the mesh from being kicked or pushed out. The Stainless Steel mesh is held in place with a pliable rubber gasket to keep mesh taught and secure.


How they work A one way swing door designed to work in front of, or behind the exterior door and hinged to the existing framework.
Every door comes complete with it's own self closer.


Suitability This door can be fitted to UPVC, timber and metal casings and is designed to take the bump, knocks and extra traffic that is found in busy or commercial premises.
The protective grill can be fitted to the top or bottom half only if required.


Removal Door and closer can be removed easily without the use of specialised tools.


Maintenance The door closer is maintenance free.
To keep hinges working effectively spray WD40 or a little light machine oil into the moving parts periodically. The powder coating can be cleaned with a cream cleaner to restore it's original condition.
All meshes should be cleaned with warm soapy water to remove grease or dirt.
Stainless Steel mesh can be power washed if desired.
Dusty screens should be vaccumed or brushed clean.

Chain Winder

Chain Winder

Technical Winder dimensions - 280mm long x 45mm wide x 20mm deep.
Chain reach - 300mm.
Push button lockable, key release.
Standard colours - black and white only.


A unique lockable device for opening low-level top or side humg windows without removing the fly screen. The winder sends out a specially designed chain which is strong enough to open most windows.
The winder attaches to both framework and casement and makes opening windows as simple as turning a handle.


How they work Simply turn the handle to open the window to allow varying degrees of ventilation without the inconvenience of removing the screen. When the locking button is pushed, the handle cannot be turned and can only be released with the key.


Suitability It is necessary to remove the existing form of security, ie: casement stay or cockspur handles before a winder can be fitted.
The winder is suitable for opening top and side hung timber, UPVC and metal casements up to approximately 1 metre square. It can also be fitted to certain types of metal casement centre pivot windows. Windows operated by pole or pulley systems will need remote winder gear.


Removal The chain winder cannot be removed from the window after it has been fitted.


Maintenance Smear the chain with grease periodically to ensure a smooth action and minimise wear.

This door requires and comes complete with it's own sub-frame to operate effectively.


How they work This door can be pushed in both directions because of it's unique two way swing hinges. These are tensioned to bring the brush seal around the edge of the door back in contact with the sub-frame.


Suitability Due to the two way swing facility, it can be installed in front of a Fire Exit door fitted with a panic pad or a crash bar. The screen door is designed to strike either of these in the event of an emergency, and both the fly screen door and the fire door will open outwards.
Fly mesh will only push out or come loose if the push and kick plates are not used when opening the door. If you think this is a possibility, you should upgrade to a heavy duty door which will include a strong decorative grill designed to protect the mesh.


Removal These doors are tailor-made to suit a particular opening or Fire Exit and cannot be removed at the end of the day.

Centre Pivot Windows

Centre Pivot Windows

Two powder coated aluminium framed fly screens.
One fitted externally to the top half of the window, the other fitted internally to the bottom half.
Each screen includes a specially designed plastic moulding which inserts firmly into the back of each screen, while allowing a flexible brush pile to be pushed in to form a seal against the glass.


How they work The window is used as normal. The brush pile that extends from each fly screen will touch the glass and form a seal in any position the window is opened to.
Screens are secured with self tapping screws to the framework, but can be held with quick release clips if required.


Suitability Ideal for any horizontal casement centre pivot window.
This type of centre pivot window can be opened and screened effectively with a chain winder - see leaflet "Chain Winder'.
For vertical or timber framed centre pivot windows, see 'Canopy / Boxes'.


Removal Remove self tapping screws or release clips and lift off.

Flyscreen Patio Door

Flyscreen Patio Door

A powder coated aluminium framed fly screen door. This lightweight door has been designed to be unobtrusive yet effective.
Fibre mesh is fitted as standard and is held in place with a philable rubber gasket which holds the mesh taught and secure.
The single screen slides essily along the channel framework and can be parked on the non-opening side of the patio when not in use.


How they work The sliding outer framework is secured to the inside or outside face of the patio sub-frame.
The screen door slides along the single channel and houses firmly into the closing side of it's frame. A dense brush pile inserted into the rear of the screen now seals against the non-opening patio door and the screens own framework.


Suitability Most patio doors.
The screens outer framework can be secured to either inside or outside. The size and position of the patio door handle usually determines which side the screen can be fitted. However, it should be noted that screens can be made to slide on a particular side, to do this requires building away from the handle. This now means that a double sliding track is required with two flyscreens sliding to cover the opening.


Removal Outer framework cannot be removed.
To remove screens, lift up and out.


Maintenance All powder coating can be cleaned with a cream cleaner to restore it's original condition.
The mesh can be cleaned with warm soapy water to remove foreign debris.

A powder coated aluminium frame covered with fibre mesh as standard. Every screen is mitred at each corner and held together with friction fit corner keys.
Mesh is held in place with a pliable rubber gasket designed to keep the mesh taught and secure.


How they work This screen has the facility to accept different thicknesses of brush pile into the back. These form a seal between the back of the screen and the face of the window. It can be held against the window with simple turn buttons, or alternatively made to hinge open at the side or top.


Suitability Can be fitted over any UPVC, timber and metal casements. Sometimes it is necessary to use a framed build off to clear the existing handles. Fibre Mesh is fitted as standard, but Stainless Steel, aluminium and finer meshes can be fitted where appropriate. This screen is usually fitted on the inside, however, because of the durable powder coating, it can be fitted to any external application.


Removal Release turn buttons and lift off the screen.


Maintenance The powder coating can be cleaned with a cream cleaner to restore it's original condition.
All meshes should be cleaned with soapy water to remove grease and dirt.

Sliding Screen

Sliding Screen

Two powder coated aluminium framed fly screens, each screen moving independently in the sliding channesl of the outer framework allowing easy movement and access to windows.


How they work The rigid aluminium outer framework is fitted to the inside or the face of the window reveal.
Each screen, when closed, overlaps in the centre providing a seal between the screens and outer framework.


Suitability Can be used in front of any window that has a reveal.
Cost effective when screening a window with multiple opening lights.
Can be made with three sliding screens for extra wide windows.
When modified slightly, this unit can be made to work vertically with both screens moving up and down, this makes it ideal to install in front of a sliding sash window.


Removal Outer framework cannot be removed.
To remove screens, lift up and out
To remove vertical sliding screens, pull packer away to either side and lift out screens.
